Our timber sash windows will transform your property in both appearance and comfort. They provide the perfect balance of traditional slender profiles with modern double glazing to keep your home warm on even the coldest of nights. The elegant proportions of our sliding sash windows will beautifully complement Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian architecture and blend in seamlessly in conservation areas.
Every window is handmade in our workshops by our expert team of joiners. Unusual size? Unusual shape? No problem - our joiners are up to the challenge..... To date the team has made over 12,000 pairs of sliding sash windows of every size and shape!
Your new windows come fully finished in a factory-applied Sikkens Rubbol micro-porous (acrylic-based) system. The standard paint finishes are white gloss and white satin. A wide range of custom colours are available on request.
All the windows we manufacture are made in sustainably sourced timber. We use either Grade A softwood or a premium Accoya product. Softwood products are treated to protect against wet-rot, dry-rot and woodworm and carry a 10 year guarantee. Accoya comes with a 50 year anti-rot guarantee and also offers improved thermal properties.
Midhurst Windows and Doors specialises in the manufacture of bespoke sliding sash windows. Our full supply and installation service covers West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. We can also provide windows outside of that area on a supply only basis.
If a Full Replacement of the Windows (including Box Frame) is required then a 4/16/4 Softcoat / Low Iron - Argon Gas Filled Glazed Unit will be installed within the Window. This type will give you the required level of heat retention and performance to comply with Building Regulations as set out in Building Control Document Part L.
All lower sash windows are installed with toughened safety glass as standard. We also toughen all glass fitted in critical locations (as set out in the Building Control Document K).
Obscured glass, decorative glass and acoustic glass can all be fitted in your new sliding sash windows. Acoustic glass can be particularly valuable in areas where traffic noise is higher than normal - but please bear in mind there are several considerations to take into account when using acoustic glass with a counter-balanced sash window. Our team would be happy to run through this with you in person when they visit as this is specific to each individual property.
All new windows come complete with draught excluders - so no more draughty sash windows! The standard range has 6.8mm brush pile draught excluders fitted to the staff and parting beads. Draught excluders are also machined into the sash window lower meeting rail. This method helps not only to eliminate draughts but also allows the window to slide smoothly.
We'll discuss the options available with you in detail when we visit as they can be very specific to the type of property, age and state of the windows. There may also be restrictions on the options available due to the conservation and listing status of your property. However the full service options available are as follows:
